Adapting mechanisms and equipment

I assess operating conditions, loads and compatibility with the assembly to define the modification. Where necessary, this includes site measurements and clearance checks.

Tooling and prototypes

I design tooling for assembly, positioning and handling, as well as prototypes to test mechanical concepts. Development considers the intended manufacturing processes: machining, laser cutting, bending, welding or 3D printing.

Calculations and component selection

I size mechanical and pneumatic elements and select commercial components to meet operating requirements. Detection requirements are coordinated with the automation specialist, who validates control system integration.

3D models and fabrication drawings

I prepare part and assembly models, drawings, exploded views and bills of materials. The documentation identifies the items to be fabricated and the commercial components needed for assembly.

Inputs for the assessment

Existing drawings, operating conditions and a description of the required change help establish the scope. Available photographs or models help identify constraints before work begins.
